Capital Airport

System Overview:
The platform integrates airport shuttle, rail transit, and highway data to provide real-time traffic insights for the control center. Its goal is to enhance efficiency and traveler experience in high-density information environments.
Design Challenges:
With multi-source data, complex interfaces, and high-stakes decisions, dispatchers must quickly identify critical information, reduce errors, and remain focused during long monitoring sessions.
Solution:
A “map-centered + layered interface” approach was adopted. Dark backgrounds highlight spatial context, large KPI cards and color-coded alerts enable instant recognition, while expandable map cards, multi-view switching, and real-time logs streamline interaction. Accessibility enhancements such as readability, contrast, and color-blind support further improved usability.
Results:
After implementation, dispatcher task efficiency improved by ~30%, incident response time decreased by ~35%, and peak congestion clearance accelerated by nearly 30%. Feedback confirmed reduced cognitive load and enhanced collaboration accuracy, proving the impact of user-centered design.
